Garlic bread, also called garlic toast, is typically made from a crusty bread such as Italian or French. It is likely adapted from the Italian dish known as bruschetta. This Italian style garlic bread is made by toasting bread over hot coals, drizzling it with olive oil, and rubbing it with fresh garlic. Depending on preference, garlic bread can be made crispy or soft. For a crisper bread, it is broiled for a couple minutes after being baked. Garlic bread is commonly served with dishes including spaghetti, soup, salad, steak, and lasagna.
