Pan de Manteca (Lard Bread)

Pan de manteca, a Cuban bread brushed with lard, is the perfect complement to roasted or cured meat sandwiches. Like pan cubano, this bread is often used to hold the popular Cuban sandwich: ham, sliced roasted pork, dill pickles, Swiss cheese, and mustard. Cubans who settled in Florida brought this bread with them, as well as many other favorites.
