Ambrosia

Ambrosia is a fruit salad from the American South. It appeared in the later part of the 19th century and continues to be popular today. It takes its name from Greek mythology, which refers to ambrosia as one of the foods of the gods. Ambrosia was originally composed of orange segments, banana slices, and shredded coconut. However, the dish continues to evolve. Today, it typically includes miniature marshmallows, pineapple, grapes, chopped cherries, and nuts.
