Coating nuts in melted chocolate started becoming popular during the 19th century. The first time this type of sweet treat was sold commercially was in 1912 when the Goo Goo Cluster was introduced followed by Goobers in 1925. Known for being eaten at movie theaters, chocolate-covered peanuts and chocolate peanut clusters satisfy cravings for both sweet and salty flavors. February 25 is recognized as National Chocolate Covered Nut Day and March 8 is National Peanut Cluster Day.
