Meaning "mix mix" in Tagalog, halo halo is a mixture of fruit, milk, and ice. This popular sweet is more commonly consumed as a snack rather than as a dessert, but can be either. Halo halo usually includes macapuno, a particular type of fleshy coconut, and coconut jelly, among other ingredients.
