With a name meaning “love powder,” polvo de amor is one of the most popular desserts in Puerto Rico. This treat is similar to a sweet, coconut crisp. The coconut for polvo de amor is traditionally obtained by scooping the flesh out of a dried coconut and with a masher or mortar and pestle, pressing out the coconut milk. This recipe uses store-bought, shredded coconut and is very easy to make.
