S'mores

A recipe for a campfire treat called “some more” was first published in the 1927 book Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts compiled by Girl Scouts, Inc. Speaking to the addictiveness of the dessert and how it was named, the last line of the recipe says, “Though it tastes like ‘some more,’ one is really enough.” Later appearances of the recipe used the name s’more, a contraction of the phrase “some more.” National S’mores Day is celebrated on August 10.
