Creole Baked Chicken

This simple recipe features flavorful Creole seasoning. Creole people are descendants of the French and Spanish who settled in Louisiana before statehood. Creole seasoning has variants but should always include garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. It also may be referred to as Cajun seasoning. The tasty spice blend can be used to flavor many meats and recipes.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
  • 1 tsp Creole seasoning 
  • 1 Tbsp butter, cut in pieces
  • Salt, to taste (optional)
  • Ground black pepper, to taste (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Season chicken on all sides with Creole seasoning.
  3. Put chicken in baking dish and place pieces of butter over chicken.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, if using.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through.
