This is New Jersey’s take on the Danger Dog, a hot dog wrapped in bacon and deep-fried. Originally, the dish was served by street vendors in Mexico with its origins in either Tijuana or Hermosillo. In Mexico, the dog was served in a bolillo—a type of savory bread native to Mexico and Central America—rather than a traditional hot dog bun.
