Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, is almost as notable for its food stands as for its baseball team. The stadium’s iconic sandwich is the Rockie Dog, a 12-inch Hebrew National frankfurter served with grilled red and green peppers and onions. Some 200,000 Rockie Dogs are sold each season. Variations of the Rockie Dog have been introduced in recent years. They include the Rockies Bacon Blue Dog, with blue cheese crumbles, chopped bacon, chopped red onion, and blue cheese dressing. This recipe can made at home and enjoyed in backyards around the country.
