Seattle-Style Hot Dog

This hot dog, sometimes called a Seattle dog, is a hot dog topped with cream cheese and grilled onions. Variations include adding jalapeños or sauerkraut as well. The dog could be a standard hot dog or a Polish sausage, which may be split down the middle. Seattle dogs date to the late 1990s and seem to have evolved from bagel vendors who added hot dogs to the bagel sticks—known as bialys—they sold with cream cheese. The dogs are mainly found as street food in Seattle.
