This refreshing cucumber salad is a popular summer dish and a common accompaniment to roast chicken or grilled meats. Known as tejfölös uborkasaláta in Hungarian, it consists of cucumbers dressed with garlic, sour cream, and vinegar and garnished with paprika. Either white wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar may be used. Some recipes for this cold salad include a pinch of sugar.

- Combine cucumber, garlic, salt, and sugar, and toss well to coat.
- Add sour cream and mix well.
- Add vinegar. Toss until well-mixed and foamy.
- Transfer to serving dish and chill for at least 20 minutes.
- Serve cold, garnished with a sprinkling of paprika.
